Morning Prayer - Feast of the Ascension
Today is 40 days since the Resurrection Sunday. Today we celebrate an enormously important event - the Ascension of Jesus into heaven. In many dioceses this solemnity is moved to Sunday, although today is the actual feast day.
Please read the Gospel passage that is read at Mass on the Feast of the Ascension. Please go through Lectio Divina (you know that term because we used it before). Read the Gospel passage carefully and slowly. Open yourself up to the action of the Holy Spirit in your heart and meditate on this passage. What does the Holy Spirit tell you through this passage? Spend about 10 minutes reading and reflecting then write your reflection below (at least 5 sentences, please).

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew:
The eleven disciples went to Galilee,
to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them,
“All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
